We just unboxed the new Mighty+ dry herb vaporizer by Storz & Bickel, and couldn’t be more excited! Before we beat the daylights out of it, let’s go through the list of advertised improvements and find what we don’t yet know.
Does it really stand on its own?
Technically yes, but not like you wanted it to. The original Mighty vaporizer could gingerly stand up when the stir tool was inserted backwards, but would easily topple over with a gentle bump. The Mighty+ has little feet on one side that keep it from toppling over, with a nice lean to it. So while it does stand on its own, it requires you reverse the stir tool first.
I’m not sure why Storz & Bickel didn’t use the same flat bottom approach of the Crafty+. But for those who want the Mighty+ to stand on its own without fiddling around, the same stands that fit the original Mighty fit the Mighty+. Unfortunately, they also partially cover the USB-C charge port, so it’s not a perfect solution.
Fast heat up time!
Our Mighty+ reached 356°F (180°C) in about 50 seconds, well under the advertised one-minute heat up time. I can tell just by looking at the screen as it heats up that it’s much faster than the original Mighty vaporizer.
Superbooster explained
Storz & Bickel marketing of this feature was confusing. But after handling the Mighty+, it’s clear it works just like the Crafty+. No matter what temperature you have it set to, a double-click of the power button will raise the temperature 27°F (15°C). A triple click will take it up another level, for a total of 54°F (30°C), but no higher than the top temperature of 410°F (210°C).
Quicker charging with USB-C
I have been liberated from my Mighty barrel port charger! The USB-C charge port has moved to the opposite side of the power button, and I already love the faster, universal charging. We will test the other battery claims later during our review.
A brighter LED screen?
The screen on the Mighty+ vape is still an LED screen that feels squishy when you push on it. But it’s clearly brighter. I took it outside with my one-year old Mighty, and the screen was much brighter in the sun. When the old Mighty was unreadable, the Mighty+ was clearly visible. Only time will tell if this display fades with age like the older one. We will compare it to a new Mighty before our full review.
Is the vapor better?
What about that ceramic bowl? Does the vapor taste better? Does it affect the session at all? Is it easier to clean, or just take longer to get dirty? We will get to the bottom of all those questions after some serious use. Stay tuned for our full review to come shortly!
